For: UVH, 2017

Visuals for the Dies Natalis 2017 of the University of Humanistic Studies in Utrecht. Posters, banners and a digital email invite. The theme of the day was combining African and European culture. I created patterns that are inspired by Ethiopian fabric designs, but filled with Dutch'party culture' imagery as a visual campaign.

ABOUT

I am Maartje (1992), a designer that still believes art can change the world. I work at De Havenloods in a beautiful, sustainable shared studio that makes me happy to cycle to work every day.

I'm a Graphic Design Bachelor (ArtEZ Arnhem, 2014) and specialised in Social Design (No Academy, 2016).

My ideals are at the heart of what I do: I am always approaching my freelance and self-initiated projects from a social, queer, feminist and sustainable viewpoint. I love to conspire with my clients about creative ways in which the project can help improve the world and be truly inclusive.
